It woke her up again she thought it was a dream
She was choking on a string that never seemed to end
She kept pulling and more and more kept coming
She gagged intermittently on randomly placed knots along the twisted thread
She pretended she got it all But she knew there was more
She acted so discreetly so not to make a scene
Bowing her head and gently clearing her airways
There is a big tumbleweed of words down as far as you can go
That she was once brave enough to swallow
That have remain undigested
She kept them locked away
She was such a shy girl after all
Never much to say
Her promise felt so heavy
It took the air out of her lungs
And clipped the wings off of her words
Such a shy girl
Nothing much to say
We thought she was just a good listener
She did as she was told , remaining distant and indifferent
Keep pulling at the string now until all of it comes out
No need to be discreet this mess is not your own
Bring all the words up from the well
We are thirsty for your freedom
There is light up here
Love this xx
